Miss Barbara O. Wood

This photograph, taken circa 1938, shows a young Barbara Wood in the gardens of her home – ‘Bronwen’ in Newlands Avenue, Radlett, Hertfordshire. Two years later she would move to Cardigan Castle. Here she appears as an attractive young woman with her life in front of her. It is sad to think that she would spend so many years living in difficult conditions without water, electricity, gas or proper sanitation at Cardigan Castle.
