Sofa Settee

This sofa settee was originally brought to Castle Green House in 1940 and originally stood at the foot of Mrs Wood’s bed in the Bluebird Room. In 2002, much in need of repair, it was sold to Cross Inn Antiques at auction, being in need of re-stuffing and reupholstering. It was purchased by Ifor and Myfanwy Lloyd, Pennant, who kindly offered to sell it back to the Trust in the summer of 2024, believing that its rightful home was back at Castle Green House. The second photograph shows the sofa settee at the foot of Mrs. Wood’s bed in her bedroom at Castle Green House as it appeared in 1988.
